Tis The Season

Our costumes are barely packed away from Halloween, but there is no time like the present to begin preparing for the holiday season, and around these parts, we LOVE to spread joy, cheer and merriment. One of our favorite ways of giving cheer is coming up with a tasty drink for you & your guests during the holiday season. We have a few to get you in the spirit!

Poinsettia
Chilled Champagne
Chilled cranberry Juice

In a champagne flute pour about an ounce of cranberry juice. Fill the rest of the glass with cold champagne or sparkling wine. A good brand that’s easy on the pockets is Cristallino! Garnish with frozen cranberries. Cheers.

Chocolate Covered Mint-tini
1oz. Godiva Liqueur
2oz. Clear Crème de Menthe
2oz. Baileys
Splash of milk or half & half optional (for a less potent drink!)

In a martini shaker filled with ice, combine the liquors, and optional ingredient. Shake & strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a mint sprig and chocolate shavings!

Mastering the Martini Party

Martini's are the new sexy. Below is a sample of martini's we made for a recent bridal shower this fall. In addition to providing the class instruction, glassware & package, we came up with a handy dandy post-card (front & back) that displayed the lovely betrothed couple on the front, and a list of drinks we would make that day on the back. Drink-up and enjoy!

Tasty Black Drinks For Halloween

We’ve been diligently working in the lab and decided to give you more “drinks for thought” in honor of all of the costume parties your BFF will drag you to next week. Having a small soiree? These are great themed drinks, that will add mystery, fun and sexiness (we love that word) to the party.

Witches Brewtini
2 oz Black Vodka
3 oz Pineapple Juice
Top with Champagne
ice

In an ice filled shaker combine the black vodka & the pineapple juice. Shake & strain into a chilled martini glass, leaving enough room at the top, to top with champagne.

Kiss of Death
2 oz Chambord
2 oz Black Vodka
Splash of Cranberry Juice
ice

In an ice filled shaker combine all of the ingredients. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with cherry or twist of lemon.

Black Widow

3 oz Black Vodka
3 oz cranberry juice
ice

This drink can be layered. To layer, pour the cranberry in a double rocks glass filled with first. Slowly pour the black vodka on top, using an inverted spoon (i.e. turn the spoon over so that the round part is facing up).

Themed Drinks Are Sexy

Never have a dull drink again! That’s right, never ever ever. We have an easy solution to last year’s drink menu, that fell flat. Spice it up with themed drink names. Change that boring vodka & cranberry to an oh-so-fabulous name to match you event. Getting married, try naming your drink “wedding bells”. Turning 29 for the 3rd time? Name your drink, “3rd Time’s A Charm”. Having a baby? “Bun In The Oven, sounds way sexier than vodka & cranberry.

Here are some fun names some of our clients used in the past, to add a special touch to their event:

Cinderella
Dark Knight
Speedy
The Wedding Cake
Liberty & Equality
Cosmoquila
Jackie-O
The Kennedy
Red, White & Blue
Drunkel
P-Funk
That 70’s Show
Bouncing Baby
Baby Bottle

Never Have A Hangover Again...

Vitamins Before & After You Drink, The Secret To Keeping The Hangover Away...The Bartender2Go Hangover Cure

Most people would think you should stock up on water before and after you have a “funky good time” out on the town, which is good. However, your body doesn’t live on water alone! When you drink your liver, kidney’s, heart & every other organ is working overtime. Mainly your liver. Your body uses it’s potassium, and other minerals to try to rid it’s self of the toxins you consumed the night before. What’s your best bet??? Vitamins and of course water.

Before your first drink:
Take a super B complex vitamin, and be sure to be hydrated. Also for every two alcoholic drinks, drink water.

After your last drink:
Some people swear by Milk Thistle, which won’t hurt. You need potassium & B vitamins at this point as well, and plenty of water. Also dry toast to coat the stomach works wonders.

In the morning:
Drink warm water with the juice of a lemon to flush out the toxins from the night before. The lemon helps your liver to function and it gets your metabolism going. Although a greasy breakfast may sound good, it’s probably the worst thing you can do. Instead have a healthier breakfast, and be sure to include a banana in some form or fashion!

And remember to always have a sober designated driver...

To The Steeple...

This weekend Bartender2Go staff were commissioned to bartend for a repeat client at the Annual Morven Steeplechase Race!!! Aside from the six exciting races & bevy of riding boots and jockey’s. The guests enjoyed drinks, a few bartender specials such as the Mint Julep, Mojito, and Spiked A. Palmer, and of course we couldn't resist coming up with a new drink for a guest who wanted a drink, but hates the taste of liquor! So of course we put on our lab-coats, rolled up the sleeves & got to work! Try our new drink of week, the VA Beach Breeze (a play on the drinks Bay Breeze or Sea Breeze).

VA Beach Breeze

3 oz. Coconut Rum
Splash of Pineapple Juice
Splash of Orange Juice
Splash of Cranberry
Tiny Splash of Grenadine

Shake ingredients and pour over ice. For an extra kick, add a shot of Bacardi or Captain Morgan, and go onward to the races....
